Building a tradition of musical excellence

Orchestra/Wind Ensemble Chicago Trip

As you know, the North Olmsted Orchestra and Wind Ensemble will be travelling to Chicago, April 4-7, 2018 (a copy of itinerary is available on the website Chicago trip page).  Along the way, the group will stop at Bowling Green State University for a music clinic and also stop for a tour of the Conn-Selmer factory in Elkhart, Indiana.  Chicago highlights include a tour of Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Field Museum (with a performance opportunity), attend a performance by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and much more!  Don’t you want to be a part of the fun?  We are still looking for one or two more chaperones.

Currently, there are 88 students going on the trip.  While we have enough chaperones/adults attending (six chaperones and three staff: Erik Kalish, Megan Kovach and Jim Koontz) to meet the schools minimum chaperone requirements, we would still like to have, if possible, one or two more chaperones.

Originally, the cost to chaperone was over $700.  At the February 12 NOBOB meeting, it was announced that NOBOB would cover the difference between the chaperone cost and the student cost.  Therefore, if you wish to chaperone this trip, you will pay $626.  Keep in mind that since NOBOB is providing this financial assistance, along with some of the other financial costs associated with this trip, we cannot provide any additional financial assistance for a chaperone to attend.

If you are interested in participating as a chaperone, please  contact Jerry Kasarcik, NOBOB’s Treasurer and the parent in charge of coordinating this trip.  Jerry can be reached at: [email protected].  Or, you can contact me at 216-586-7399 (workdays).  We will then be able to assist you with the next steps.

Also, as soon as we can get it scheduled, there will be a mandatory parent/student meeting regarding the trip.  At that meeting, all expectations, itinerary, logistics and questions will be answered.
