The Disney Trip has been cancelled at the direction of the Superintendent, due to increased concern for the health and safety of students, staff, and chaperones as related to the coronavirus outbreak. Please read the letter communicated to NOBOB at the link below.
The letter says, in part:
Currently, Walt Disney World has closed the park through the end of March. While it is unknown what will happen after that date, the district has decided to be proactive and cancel the NOHS Marching Band’s trip to Walt Disney World that was scheduled to take place during Spring Break. We understand these cancellations come as disappointments to our students looking forward to the trip.
The district also recognizes the financial impact this decision has on our families. We will work with the North Olmsted Band and Orchestra Boosters to determine the possibility of refunds from the travel companies. As a district, cancelling a trip of this magnitude is not an easy decision to make, but with recent events we feel this is necessary to help protect our school community and minimize the risk associated with COVID-19.
